A move-out clean goes well past a regular tidy, because it is judged against the checklist your landlord or leasing office inspects against. We clean the empty place top to bottom so it is ready for the walk-through. Here is what that covers, room by room.
In the kitchen, we clean inside and outside the oven, the stovetop and range hood, inside the fridge and freezer, inside and outside every cabinet and drawer, and the sink, counters and backsplash. The kitchen and the bathrooms are where most of a deposit decision is made, so they get the most attention.
In the bathrooms, we scrub the tub and shower, the tile and grout, the toilet inside and out, and the vanity, sink and mirror. Everywhere else, we vacuum and mop the floors, vacuum carpets, wipe baseboards, doors, door frames and switch plates, clean the interior windows and sills, wipe light fixtures and ceiling fans, clear out closets and shelving, and spot-clean marks on the walls.

A move-out clean is a full, top-to-bottom clean of an empty place against a landlord’s move-out checklist. That means inside the oven, fridge and cabinets, the bathrooms scrubbed, floors cleaned, and baseboards, doors, switch plates, windows and fixtures wiped, so the place is ready for a walk-through. Will this help me get my deposit back?
Cleaning is one of the most common reasons money is taken out of a deposit, so a proper move-out clean removes that reason and gives your deposit its best chance. We cannot control what a landlord decides, but we clean to the checklist they inspect against, and if they flag a cleaning item we come back and re-clean it at no charge.
